
Elier Cruz is a Principal Global Enterprise Consultant with 24 years of experience in enterprise architecture and cybersecurity. He has held technical and leadership roles at MCI/Worldcom, Avantel/Banamex, and Hewlett-Packard Enterprise, and now serves on Check Point’s Strategy and Risk Consulting team. He holds engineering and business degrees from the National Polytechnic Institute of Mexico (IPN) and the Monterrey Institute of Technology (ITESM), along with advanced diplomas from Stanford University, MIT, Forrester, and the SABSA Institute. Elier has authored multiple whitepapers and architectural blueprints on public, private, and hybrid cloud security, aligning with best practices from CSA, CISA, NIST, and ENISA. He also developed the Check Point Zero-Trust Framework—built on Forrester ZTX, DoD, and SABSA models—to guide organizations in mapping business requirements to effective security controls. He authored the Secure Cloud Transformation whitepaper, outlining cloud-centric security principles aligned with Gartner’s cloud vision for 2023–2027. He is currently focused on AI governance, risk management, and security initiatives, helping organizations secure AI projects using frameworks such as the NIST AI RMF 1.0, OWASP AI Security & Privacy Guide, the MIT AI Risk Repository, and ISO 42001:2023.
